8 March 1953 - Sebring 12 Hours - World Sports Car Championship

The first round of the newly formed World Sports Car Championship, featured two Porsche 356 but one failed to finish and the other did not start due to gearbox issues.

26 April 1953 - Mille Miglia - World Sports Car Championship

Eleven Porsche 356s finished with the Hans Hermann/Erwin Bauer 356 1500 Super the highest placed 11th in class S2.0 (30th overall).

31 May 1953 - Nürburgring Eifel Race - German Sports Car Championship

The debut of the 550 competing in roadster format

14 June 1953 - Le Mans 24 Hours - World Sports Car Championship

Porsche 550 Coupe 1st and 2nd in S1.5 Class

26 July 1953 - Spa 24 Hours - World Sports Car Championship

Two Porsche 356 entered, but failed to finish
